Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Philippians, 4. 8

The perfect wardrobe

For years I led a Women's Bible Study...lately I have been thinking about some of the things I shared....I needed to hear them again. What kind of clothes are in your closet?

Women are so concerned about what they are going to wear. God's wardrobe is the most beautiful. Look at what the Word says about what we are to "put on".

Colossians 3:12-17 ( KJV)

12Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

13Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

14And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

15And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

17And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

I am so thankful for the time I shared with you in Ladies' Bible Study. I grew so much as a believer from that sisterhood of faith. Isabel, I miss her so much; Rhoda, such a sweet spirit; Wendy,bubbly and always encouraging; Jean E., wonderful and affirming; Martha, faithful and perservering; and you, what can I say? You told me things I didn't always want to hear, but needed to hear. You challenged me to hold fast when I felt anxious, to let go of past hurts and forgive, and to hold my tongue when it wasn't edifying. Those lessons are forever etched on my heart. Those were the formative years of my new faith and I am blessed to have had such a wonderful group of ladies to guide me. I miss it, but the legacy you gave me has inspired me to lead. I love you, Sara.

My closet isn't very big...no room for clothes or otherwise. Need a home maker of eternal proportions...another closet in my house wouldn't hurt either!

Melissa, what loving comments. I love you, too. The very best thing about accountability and women's Bible Studies is that everyone learns. Those devotions were always for me...and I allowed you to listen in. God has much to teach me still. I need to be still and listen.
